About Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Grace Melia. But you can call me Grace for short. I'm a mom with two kids, a 8 yo daughter (Aubrey/Ubii) and an almost 5 yo son (Aiden). My daughter is having her special needs caused by Congenital Rubella Syndrome. That's why you can see a girl in wheel chair up on my header.

I majored in English Literature at Sanata Dharma University in 2011. I worked in that field for only a year or two. Then I dedicated my time for an online community called Rumah Ramah Rubella that I created in 2013. In Rumah Ramah Rubella, we advocate about Rubella and try to raise awareness about Measles and Rubella vaccine -- and that  made me awarded from Indonesia Health Ministry in 2018 and brought me fly to American Red Cross in Washington DC to give a speech in 2019, which I consider a lifetime opportunity.

In 2015, I gave birth to my second child, a boy who's not having any health problems like my first child. Having a two-way interaction with Aiden really amazed me. Since then I've become fascinated more in parenting and kids activities. Then in early 2019 I joined a Montessori Intensive Class, and also joined a Post-Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play. And as per today, I give Play Therapy service for kids with emotional, social, and behavior problems in Jogja Medical Center.

Learning to be a professional Play Therapy Practitioner has given me stronger interest in mental and emotional health for kids and family. So then I completed a CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) certification and Points Of You Coaching (Level 1) in 2019.

Today I am juggling between being a mom, wife, content creator for my blog, my personal IG @grace.melia and my parenting-focus IG @mainsamaaiden, a play therapy practitioner, and of course, being myself.

I currently live in Yogyakarta and travel back and forth to Jakarta once or twice a month.

Here in this blog, you will find stories mostly about family and everything in between: Parenting, special needs parenting, marriage, random thoughts on life, family health, women health - all in light and personal tone, because why so serious, lol. I also write about blogging and social media occasionally.
